New baby is here!

Wed Sep 5th we went in to the hospital to induce labor. I was only 39 weeks, but the ultrasound showed a large baby with a large head so my doctor thought it would be best to get him out a little early.I was given the worst I.V. of all time! I think she hit a nerve or something, cuz that stupid thing hurt like crazy the ENTIRE time it was in my hand. This picture is me messing with it trying to make it stop hurting. It didn't work.
The induction began at about 8:15 am and Titus was born at 11:55 am. I got an epidural but it only numbed the front half of my body. I kept pushing the little button and it kept hurting more and more... I felt very cheated! But luckily Titus wanted out just as much as I wanted him out, so it went fast.
This picture is just moments after his birth. Titus Lee Kirschenmann was 22.5 inches long and weighed 9 pounds, 11 ounces. I'm so glad I didn't have to let him grow inside for another week. Holy cow. Unfortunately his size did cause one problem. He broke his collarbone during delivery, poor little guy. But he is healing nicely so far.

Miriam has been looking forward to this day for a long 9 months

Eden doesn't know what's going on, but at this point she doesn't think she likes it. Don't worry, she came around very quickly. Now she LOVES her new baby. She showers him with slobbery kisses and gentle little pats. It's very sweet.

Believe it or not, this kid has dark red hair! I promise you I did NOT doctor this photo at all. Under certain lighting it's just that red.

This is literally my favorite picture of all time. How blessed am I to have that sweet little family all to myself!
 Check out the double chin

I like how red his hair looks next to Jason's. I hope he doesn't lose it, I love his red hair!

August 2012

Look at those skinny little legs on that girlie. She loves wearing shoes, anyone's shoes.

I accidentally discovered my birthday gift from Jason 2 weeks before my birthday
so we had to celebrate early and I was supposed to act very surprised!

Miriam got some new glasses, play glasses. And Eden LOVES to wear them to read books. It's so cute!

Baby Titus

Can you see his little face? His left hand is up on his forehead, and his right is by his chin. My uterus has been measuring larger than normal for my last few appointments so today my doc had me do an ultrasound to make sure it wasn't too much fluid. Turns out that baby Titus is just a real big boy. He's really making this mama uncomfortable! But I was so relieved to hear that everything was ok with him. And who wouldn't want to see a little fuzzy picture of their baby's face?

The family is growing!

... at least I'M growning! Here's a pic of my ever-expanding waistline. 7 more weeks of growing then we'll be able to meet our sweet boy. Can't wait! This pregnancy has been good. No major issues. The back pain has been MUCH less than it was last time. I was much sicker with this baby, but that's passed now. But I'm just starting the "I'm-so-uncomfortable-I-can't-do-anything" stage of pregnancy. I'm blazing hot, sleeping is a challenge, tying my shoes... forget about it, and carrying my 14-month old on my hip is getting a little tricky. We'll just have to take it one day at a time. Haha.

The basement saga

So I just wanted to post the "yucky" pic again to show how far our bedroom has come. This was our room just 3 weeks ago. Jason patched, waterproofed, sealed, insulated, vapor barriered, framed, re-wired, dry-walled, mudded, sanded, primed, painted, and trimmed! He worked so hard! But it turned out great!
He EVEN found the time to build us a closet, we didn't have one before
So new we just ripped up the other basement bedroom, so we have to do the entire process again in there. But it's easier now that we have a nice, comfortable (and DRY) bedroom to go to at the end of the day.

Big changes

On Sunday Jason was voted in to be our church's new Sr Pastor. It's so strange how much has changed in the last 6 months. In the last 6 months we moved, we were surprised by the news of a baby coming, we lost our pastor unexpectedly, and then we felt God changing our hearts like we NEVER expected Him to. This transition from youth pastor to senior pastor isn't like a promotion or an upgrade, it's more like a career change. Some things are the same but, it's a HUGE change, and one we never thought we would make. But God knows what His kingdom needs, and who are we to think we should have any idea what He has in store for our futures. So we are taking on this new role with excitement and gladness, knowing the God will teach us how to fulfill His will. I just wanted to let all of you know our news. Please remember us in your prayers as we begin a new chapter of our lives.

June 2012

Eden likes to dig in the garbage for scraps.

And she loves "the little chair".

A couple weeks ago we had a down-pouring of rain. Our garage and finished basement flooded. The water quickly dried up but it left our basement permanently damaged. This is our bedroom, believe it or not. The day before this it was completely dry and looked like a normal bedroom... walls, paint, trim, carpet, etc. It all had to be ripped out. So sad. Jason has been working SO HARD to get the basement back in order before our little boy is born. 2 of our 4 bedrooms are in the basement, so we could really use the space.

When the basement is done I'll post some new pics. Hopefully soon!

Eden's 2nd 1st birthday party

Eden's 2nd 1st birthday party was here in MN with Grandma and Grandpa Bade. Grandpa Bade was also having his birthday that week, so they celebrated together. He's a little older than she is... he turned 50!

Visit to Montana and Eden's 1st 1st birthday party

Shortly after we found out we were having our third child, it dawned on us that soon we would need 3 carseats for a while. We pondered and schemed trying to think up a way to fit 3 carseats in the back of our car. But it just wouldn't work. So we decided it was time to "upgrade" to a minivan. The best deal we could find was in Jason's home town, Glendive Montana. So we turned it into a little vacation and visited Grandma and Grandpa. We were there a week before Eden's birthday so we had a little party, her 1st 1st birthday party. After this trip was over my parents came to see us in MN so she got to have another little party with the other Grandma and Grandpa, her 2nd 1st birthday party.
