First snows and new strollers. What fun!

It snowed! It snowed! - Oct 9, 2009

Noelle gave Miriam this fairy skirt and she just loves it. She cried when we made her take it off for bed. And then she put it back on first thing in the morning.

Miriam has been practicing to be a mommy someday and this week at a garage sale I found this dolly stroller... big hit. She's been pushing her baby around the house ever since.

What can I say? I guess my cookin' is JUST THAT GOOD!!! Hahaha. Right.

We can't get grass to grow in this patch of the lawn, but Miriam likes it that way.

VACATION!!

We went on vacation a couple weeks ago. First we went to North dakota and saw Jason's Gramma Mona. While we were there we fliped her mattress and Miriam loved that cuz she got to bask in the luxury of Grammas bedding all in a pile on the floor. Miriam LOVED LOVED LOVED Gramma's cooking! Ok, we all loved it!
After North Dakota we spent a couple days in Glendive with Jason's parents.

Having fun with Papa

Apparently she didn't want to have her picture taken with Aunt Jenny and Gramma Bade. Next we went to Nebraska for my family reunion and my Gramma's 75th birthday. It was so nice to see all my cousins, most of them I haven't seen in 10 years or more. It was so fun!

On our way to Mt Rushmore we drove through a herd of donkeys on the road. Weird.

We had to pull over for a minute to let the car-sickness subside
We had a good time at Mt Rushmore. It was really "weeeeny" (windy).

"I don't feel good"

Miriam was feeling pretty sick this Sunday morning, so we sat in the sound booth and snuggled. Jason took a picture so there's proof... Miriam does snuggle occasionally.

Singing a song

Miriam has been so into singing lately. She'll sing along with anyone who's singing, or she'll just start her own little tune at totally random times. We LOVE it!!! Nothing brightens our day quite like hearing an original song by our little girl.

Bad hair daze!

Miriam woke up this morning with the wildest bed-head ever! It reminded me of a soft serve ice cream come the way it swirled up and out. So funny.

Miriam loves the park! She just went down the tornado slide by herself for the first time, and we got a little bonus... Nice hair, Miriam!
"That was fun, mom...
Now I'm goin' back up to do it again!"

Another one of our youth groups kids just got married, Chelsea Birdwell. I have a hard time handling it when our youth kids get married and have babies and grow up! Haha! Jason was so honored to be able to perform the ceremony for them. In this picture Miriam is spending a little down time with the father of the bride (and the dog of the bride) during the rehearsal.

Motherhood is...

To me this picture speaks volumes about motherhood. There are times when I just need to shut the door with her on the other side for a minute. But it fills my heart with such joy when I see those chubby fingers reaching under the door, as if she'll be able to grab me and pull me right back out. It's true, when you have kids you loose most of your privacy, but it's such a small sacrifice for what you get in return. Being a mom is the best job I've ever had. Who could look at this and not chuckle? "MOMMY, come back out here!" Daddy was with her on the other side of the door, laughing just like I was.

She loves shoes!

THE FAIR!!!!!!
We went to the fair this year! It was so fun! She's just getting to the age where she actually enjoys things like this. We ate funnel cakes, we rode the rides, we won prizes, we took pictures, and we even watched the rodeo. It was such a blast. Miriam loved waving to the peasants below as she was riding the rides. She looked so proud.

This is Jason riding with Taten, the kid behind them threw up... but not them, they're real men.

The 4th of July
We celebrated the 4th with some friends from our church. Miriam really did NOT like the loud fireworks, or the really bright fireworks... the only things she liked were the quiet fountains and snappers. But we had a great time. It was fun to watch her face as she was seeing these things for the first time.

Throw that snapper!
